Our story

The Gamerlicious community was first founded in 2011, back then as a small leisure project for two members. A homepage with a kind of social media component, an associated Teamspeak server and other ideas were quickly created and served as the basis for everything else. Other helping hands quickly joined in, which to this day represent a well-established team of four and also launched the official founding of the Gamerlicious Spielekulturverein.

In the first few years, the community actually only served as a contact point for like-minded people to play computer games of all kinds together. To exchange information about new developments in the industry and also to discuss some social and political decisions. Members of the community have come and gone, but a core of a core team has remained and remains loyal to this day.

With the further studies of the four initiators, the community not only received the leisure component, but also a partly professional touch. Games and technology were not only looked at through the eyes of players, but also the benefits and possibilities were recognized and highlighted in many corners and ends.

Of course, the digital world and the community as a whole continued to develop rapidly, and over the years it became increasingly clear that a certain tone of voice had also established itself within the player community globally, which only supported the prejudices against players. Closely followed by the ever increasing problem of cyber bullying, constant security vulnerabilities and privacy concerns.

In 2021/22, these four members decided to get down to business and give the game culture, the community behind it, as well as some of the related topics more backing and founded the registered Gamerlicious Spielekulturverein, with headquarters in Vienna.
